Missy Mitchell-McBeth joins Something For Everybody this week. Coach Mitchell-McBeth has over 19 years of experience in the coaching profession. In addition to her work with SaFe Iron, she is the Director of Sports Performance at Fieldhouse Volleyball Club in Northlake, Texas and co-owns the Conditioning Project, an online community-based training program that improves the health of coaches by implementing a balanced approach to training.
In this conversation we explore the topics of being busy, rest and recovery, adapting coaching methods, qualities of great coaches, and coaches taking care of themselves. Coach Mitchell-McBeth also delves into the concept of self-determination theory and the importance of rest and recovery for athletes. Aaron Machbitz and Missy Mitchell-McBeth discuss the importance of building habits, the concept of specialization in sports training, the benefits of playing multiple sports, and core exercises for athletic development.
